Description

A Colorful Cooling Blend To Jump Start Your Day

A creamy, refreshing smoothie made with bananas, berries, spinach and coconut milk. It blends into a perfectly chilled, nutrient rich drink that is simple, vibrant and ideal for hectic mornings or healthy snacking.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 frozen banana

  • 1 to 2 large handfuls frozen spinach

  • 1 cup frozen berries of choice

  • 1.5 cups coconut milk or other non dairy milk

  • 1 tsp maca powder, optional

  • 1 tsp green vitamin powder, optional

  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tbsp sunflower seed butter or any nut or seed butter


Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender.

  2. Blend until completely smooth, adding 1 to 2 tablespoons hot water only if needed to help your blender work through the frozen fruit.

  3. Pour into two 12 ounce glasses and enjoy immediately or refrigerate the second portion for the next day.

Notes

Top with hemp hearts, chia seeds or granola for extra texture.

Add a splash of orange juice for a citrusy twist.

Blend in protein powder or ginger for an extra boost.

I will often wait until my bananas are ripe then peel and freeze them.

I will also buy a huge container of fresh spinach, put a paper towel in the container and freeze it upside down. The spinach will keep its shape but freeze into little chips. The paper towel catches any moisture as it freezes. Freezing both the bananas and the spinach will keep them good for months!
