Crispy, Golden, Nostalgic Corn Dogs Made the Plant Powered Way
These crunchy, golden Beyond Sausage corn dogs bring fair food joy into your kitchen with a simple batter, a quick freeze and a perfectly crispy finish.
Ingredients
For the Corn Dogs

1 package Beyond Sausage Brat Original (4 total)

Wooden skewers or corn dog sticks

Canola oil, for frying
Vegan Corn Dog Batter

1.5 cups flour

1 cup fine cornmeal

2 tbsp non dairy sour cream

4 tbsp sugar
-
1 tbsp baking powder

1 cup plant milk
Instructions

In a large bowl, mix flour, cornmeal, sugar and baking powder.

Add non dairy sour cream, then gradually add plant milk. Stir until smooth. Adjust thickness by adding flour to thicken or plant milk to thin.

Insert a wooden skewer into each Beyond Sausage, stopping about 1 inch before the end.

Freeze the skewered sausages for 30 to 45 minutes so the batter adheres well.

Pour batter into a tall glass wide enough to submerge the sausages.

Heat 4 to 5 inches of canola oil in a Dutch oven to 360°F.

Dip each frozen sausage fully into the batter, coating completely.

Immediately and carefully place the coated sausage into hot oil.

Use a spider or strainer to gently rotate the corn dog while frying. Cook 1 to 2 minutes or until all sides are deep golden brown.

Remove and place on a wire rack to drain. Repeat with remaining sausages.
Notes
Serve with classic ketchup, mustard or a spicy vegan mayo dip.
Pair with fries, coleslaw or a crisp green salad for a full meal.
Drizzle with maple mustard for a sweet and savory twist.
