Description

Bold, Crunchy Cauliflower With Big Buffalo Flavor in Every Bite

Crispy fried cauliflower florets coated in a spicy batter and served with ranch or buffalo dipping sauce for a seriously addictive snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head cauliflower, cut into florets

Dry ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay

  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon chipotle pepper

  • 1/4 teaspoon rosemary

  • 1/4 teaspoon thyme

  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast

  • 1 cup flour

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Wet ingredients

  • 1/2 cup buffalo sauce

  • 1/2 cup dairy free milk (rice milk used here)

  • 1 to 2 cups oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut the cauliflower into floret sized pieces.

  2. Mix all dry ingredients together in one bowl and all wet ingredients in another.

  3. Heat oil in a skillet to about 350°F over medium high heat.

  4. Use a double dip method: dedicate one hand to wet ingredients and one to dry. Dip each floret into the wet mix, then into the dry mix, repeating once more to form a thick coating.

  5. Carefully place coated florets into the hot oil and fry until golden brown on all sides.

  6. Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.

  7. Serve warm and enjoy. Optional: make a spicy ranch by mixing vegan ranch with hot sauce or buffalo sauce.

Notes

Serve with vegan ranch, spicy ranch or extra buffalo sauce

Add celery sticks or carrot sticks for a classic wing style combo

Build into bowls with grains, greens and a drizzle of creamy dressing

Toss finished florets in additional buffalo sauce for extra heat

NOTE: Make sure to check labelling on Buffalo sauces as it commonly contains butter.
