Crispy fried tofu coated in buffalo ranch sauce and stacked on a toasted vegan bun for a wildly flavorful, satisfying sandwich.
Ingredients
For the tofu

1/2 block extra firm tofu

1 cup oil
Dry ingredients

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper

1 teaspoon Old Bay

1/2 teaspoon pepper

1/2 teaspoon salt
-
1/4 teaspoon chipotle pepper

1 teaspoon paprika
-
1 tablespoon nutritional yeast

1/2 cup flour
Toppings
-
Vegan bun
-
Lettuce
-
3 tablespoons vegan ranch

1 teaspoon Texas Pete
Instructions

Cut the block of tofu in half. Store one half and press the other half with paper towels until damp but not wet.

Slice the pressed tofu lengthwise to create two patties.

Combine all dry ingredients in a small bowl.

Coat each tofu patty on all sides with the dry mixture.

Heat oil to approximately 350°F. Carefully lower the tofu into the hot oil.

Fry until golden brown on all sides, then transfer to a plate lined with napkins to drain.

In a small bowl stir together Texas Pete and vegan ranch to make the sauce.
