DIY air freshener

It’s not news to anyone that air fresheners meant for our homes are often filled with toxins. Meaning that our friends, children, and loved ones are breathing in terrible chemicals.

So Vegan Action offers you this super easy DIY project that you can make at home.

What You’ll Need
  • A small reused jar
  • A small square of fabric, enough to cover the top of the jar
  • 1/4 cup of baking soda
  • 5-10 drops of your choice of essential oil
How To Make It

First, fill your jar with baking soda. Then, you can add your drops of essential oil. I enjoy using citrus scents or lavender. Tea Tree also works great as a deodorizer. Then mix them together with a metal spoon or shake the jar (with a lid on).

Afterwards, take the lid off and the cut your fabric to fit over top of your jar. I like to secure it with hemp, baker’s twine or string. You can also use a rubber band and tie the string on top of that, for a better look.

Now you can place your natural deodorizer anywhere in your house – bathroom, closets or even in your car!

NOTE: Shake your jar every once in awhile to reactivate your scent. If the scent starts to fade, feel free to add a few more drops of essential oil.
