This flavorful dish features Beyond Meat Certified Vegan Beef Crumbles, perfectly sautéed with vibrant red and green peppers, savory onions and aromatic garlic. Simmered together for an hour, creating a rich and robust sauce that’s perfect over a bowl of pasta.
Servings: 6 to 8
INGREDIENTS
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 package Beyond Meat Certified Vegan Beef Crumbles Original
- 1 large onion, diced
- 1 red pepper, diced
- 1 green pepper, diced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, sliced
- 7 cloves of garlic, roughly chopped
- 2 15oz cans of tomato sauce
- 2 14.5oz cans of crushed tomatoes
- 1 6oz can of tomato paste
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1 tsp oregano
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- 1 tbsp brown sugar, packed
- 1 tsp Bragg Liquid Aminos
- 1 tsp vegan Worcestershire sauce
DIRECTIONS
- Add olive oil to a stock pan over medium heat, then toss in your peppers, onions, garlic, and Beyond Crumbles. Sauté the mixture for five minutes. Add the spices, sugar, Worcestershire and Bragg Liquid Aminos to the pot. Continue to cook for another 5 minutes, making sure to stir frequently so everything cooks evenly.
- To the same pan, add your tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes and tomato paste. Stir well to combine, then reduce the heat to low. Let the sauce simmer for an hour, stirring occasionally to make sure it doesn’t stick to the pan. Add the basil and parsley to the sauce once it has finished simmering. Stir everything together to ensure the herbs are well incorporated.
- Cook your favorite pasta according to the package instructions. Once the pasta is ready, drain it and serve with a generous ladle of vegan meat sauce. Top with vegan Parmesan and fresh basil.
