Just as good as the one your mom used to make!
- 1 box of ziti noodles
- 1 can of pasta sauce
- Several handfuls of Daiya mozzarella shreds
- Homemade vegan cheese sauce
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Then boil pasta according to directions on box. While pasta is cooking, begin making your plant-based cheese sauce with flour, non-dairy milk, nutritional yeast, garlic and onion powder.
For the cheese sauce, toss a few slices of non-dairy butter in a heated pan and combine with 1 cup and a half of non-dairy milk. Mix with a whisk and start adding in nutritional yeast. Throw in as much as you feel is needed. Then season with onion powder and garlic powder. Start tossing in about a half a cup of flour and immediately whisk it all in. Continue until everything is well-blended.
Combine pasta sauce and noodles in an oven-safe dish. T
Combine pasta sauce and noodles in an oven-safe dish. Mix cheese sauce into pasta. Top with Daiya shreds before throwing into the oven. Bake uncovered for about 25-30 minutes.
